The Project

NICE, a global leader in customer experience software, commissioned a new 10,109 sq. ft. office space on the 11th floor of the iconic 88 Wood Street building in London. The design and build of this office were executed by SPACE, and the project earned a nomination for the Mix Interiors ‘Project of the Year – Workplace Interiors – 5,000 to 15,000 sq ft.’ The office was designed to embody NICE’s commitment to innovation and creating exceptional customer experiences, with a focus on sustainability, inclusivity, and employee well-being.

The Challenge

The primary challenge was to create a workspace that would not only reflect NICE’s brand values but also foster an environment conducive to collaboration, innovation, and well-being. The design needed to integrate biophilic elements and sustainable practices while maintaining a cohesive, inviting atmosphere. Additionally, the lighting strategy had to align with these goals, ensuring that the space was both functional and aesthetically pleasing, all while promoting health and inclusivity among employees.

The Solution

To meet these challenges, Synergy provided innovative biophilic lighting solutions that seamlessly integrated into the overall design. Key installations included the Lokken Oval Living Planter Pendant Light over the kitchen island, which combined illumination with natural greenery to create a refreshing and calming environment. Additionally, the Lokken Partition, a living partition light, was used to divide spaces within the open-plan office, offering flexibility and enhancing the biophilic atmosphere without compromising the flow of the space. These lighting elements were carefully chosen to align with NICE’s emphasis on sustainability and inclusivity, incorporating energy-efficient LEDs and neurodiverse-friendly designs.
